About the Volunteering Project

We are happy to be part of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) programme, which gives young people the opportunity to spend several months abroad, contribute to a meaningful project, and become part of a local community.

At Ledňáček, volunteers experience everyday life in a forest kindergarten inspired by Montessori pedagogy. Most of our activities take place outdoors throughout the whole year. Volunteers become part of our team, support children in their daily activities, and gain insight into alternative preschool education in the Czech Republic.

We aim to create an environment based on respect, cooperation, independence and close contact with nature. Besides working in the kindergarten, volunteers also become part of the wider Hnízdo community and meet other international volunteers in the region.

Basic Information about ESC

for volunteers aged 18–30 from EU and partner countries
most costs are covered by the ESC programme (travel, accommodation, insurance, food allowance, and pocket money)
no specific education or previous experience is required
motivation and willingness to engage are the most important qualities

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for someone who is:

friendly, open-minded, responsible, and reliable,
respectful towards children and other people,
genuinely interested in spending time outdoors in all seasons,
interested in education, community life, and personal development,
willing to actively participate in the life of the kindergarten and community,
able to communicate in basic English.

Experience with Montessori education or forest pedagogy is an advantage, but not required.
Understanding Czech language is also helpful, but not necessary.
